What do you get when you take C Lounge Toronto and mix it with 190,000 pounds of ice, lots of Smirnoff Ice, and custom made white parkas and gloves made by Roots?

Well, you would get one of the hottest, but the coolest (-5 degrees Celsius to be exact!) bar in all of Toronto - Ice Lounge. With a 100-person capacity Ice Lounge will be the hardest place to get into this winter. Ice Lounge is the first "ice bar" in North America having its icy doors open since November 22nd 2005.

The entire creation is made from ice. Everything from an 18-foot bar, to the seating, tables, and even the martini and shot glasses! Of course, the drink of choice for this ice habitat will be a hard straight up vodka martini, a Smirnoff Vodka martini. Ice Lounge will be kept cool until about March with the aid of 90,000 BTU's holding it at -5 degrees. Once the mild weather comes, C Lounge is going to have one very expensive puddle - approximately $200,000!!

Does this sound a little deterring to you because of the cold? Well if so, you need not to worry. Ice Lounge comes complete with custom made white cushy Roots parkas and matching comfy gloves for all its patrons and staff. Nick Di Donato, president of Liberty Entertainment Group (parent company of C Lounge) said "Although it may sound uncomfortable, it really isn't"

C Lounge's "Ice Lounge" is yet another project by the international ice makers Iceculture Inc. Iceculture can create just about any promotional item such as a giant beer bottle to an ice oyster tray. Iceculture even built an Ice Hotel in Ste-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier, Quebec, where you can sleep on ice!
